I’m a trash picker.
There. I said it. I have no shame (OK maybe a little) stopping at a pile of junk someone has left on the curb. I have made many a U-turn to go check out a junk pile to see if I can find any “treasures”. And sometimes I do. One time, while in a shi-shi neighborhood in Newport Beach, I noticed an old wooden ladder sitting out by the trash cans on the curb. Do I stop and risk the sideways glances I might receive from those passers by in their BMW’s, or do I risk getting home and being hauntedby that ladder and all of the amazing Pinterest projects I could use it for???? Duh. No contest.
I come by my trash picking tendencies honestly. I learned from the best. My dad has no problem whatsoever stopping to dig for “treasures” and man does he have some skills! He found this piece recently and brought it to me.
No, I didn’t decide to stage this before photo with a Christmas coaster, clearly left over from the 90’s. In fact, this coaster may have indeed been there since the 90’s. It was stuck on there. I mean really stuck. Like, pry it off with a putty knife stuck.
How does that happen? Did they just never move this coaster? Did they love Christmas so much that they decided to glue it in place so that they always knew where to set their cup of hot cocoa as they sit watching Hallmark Christmas movies for hours on end? Makes you wonder. Or maybe it’s just me.
Anyway, check out this cute little thing now! I decided to try my hand at the gold-dipped look. Oh how I love me some gold spray paint!
