A while ago I got a call from Jennifer Williams, the owner of Beverly’s Best Bakery (the makers of all of my gorgeous wedding desserts). They were planning on opening another store in Yorba Linda and wondered if we might be willing to do a piece for the store. I, of course, jumped at the opportunity!
After hours of scouring Craigslist, like a mad woman, I found this cute little buffet. It was a good shape and would work perfectly for thier shop. Unfortunately, the before photo I had got deleted so… just imagine this piece a maple-y brown color. Got it? OK great.
I originally painted this bad boy with a home made chalk paint. I will do a future post about different kinds of paint, but the apparent beauty of this type of paint is that you don’t have to sand or primer the piece. Wellllllll…. the not sanding part of it didn’t work out so well for me. I lightly ran my fingernails over the top and the paint came right off.
So we had to scrape all of the paint off and start over. We may or may not have vocalized hate toward this piece a few times. But the only one I could really be mad at was me. It’s not her fault. I mean look how cute she is!
Jennifer asked me to come photograph the opening day of their new store, which was a total blast and a total success. I was so excited to document such an exiting day for them! I left feeling full of pride. Or maybe, more likely, I was full from all the samples of scones and cookies I ate! 🙂
Pay them a visit and get some yummy goodness!
Oh! this little painted piece was one that we found for them in our search. We didn’t paint it, but it sure is cute!
